Peter 'lights up' Allen Trophy
PETER Watson scooped the Allen Trophy at Ighten Mount on Saturday.
Under the floodlights, he overcame the challenge of Sandra Dutton, with spectators treated to some excellent bowling.
To reach the final, Peter had to overcome some strong opposition from Mick Bastow in the last 16 and Brian Smith in the last eight, while his semi-final opponent was team-mate John Whittaker.
Sandra progressed to the final by beating Stephen Clamp in the last 16, Viv Ambrose in the quarters and John Hanson in the semis.
The prizes were presented by Marshall Burke from Thwaites Brewery and the trophy was presented by former club president Mr Arthur Allen.
