KARL Fowler was the star of Burnley Thai Boxing Club's show at the Kestrel Suite.
The lightweight, in his debut bout, took on double British champion Gaz Turnbull of HKS Horwich in a non-sanctioned contest, and earned a superb draw.

Some onlookers felt he may even have shaded the fight, but a draw was probably a fair outcome.

Karl is now looking forward to his first competitive bout in Harrogate next month.

The club also had a number of other fighters in action in non-decision contests, padded up for some hard sparring, including Nakita Morrison, Lee Harrison, Nadeem Raza, Ryan Spencer, Neil Frazer and Daniel Howard, while Jake Robinson, Dan Graham and World cage fighting champion Mick Sinclair all fought twice.
