THREE men are to appear at Burnley Crown Court in connection with a massive drugs raid on a landmark Burnley pub.
Hai Nguyen (23) and 34-year-old Ha Nguyen were arrested at the Duke Of York pub on Monday and charged with the production of cannabis following the police raid which unearthed more than 1,000 cannabis plants.
Tuan Pham (46) was later arrested and also charged with the production of cannabis following a further raid on premises in Colne Road.
The three men, all of no fixed address, appeared at Burnley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where they were committed to the crown for sentencing on Friday, September 12th.
The trio were targeted in one of Burnley police force's biggest ever raids as part of Operation Fugo. Police believe the plants found at the pub on Monday would have yielded a profit of £80,000 while two raids later in the day, including the Colne Road blitz where more than 400 plants were found, would have totalled a further £70,000 – meaning a total estimated street value of £150,000.
