Drugs raid in Stoneyholme and Daneshouse
CANNABIS was seized and a man arrested after police executed drugs warrant in the Stoneyholme and Daneshouse areas of Burnley.
The police operation, which took place last Tuesday, is part of an ongoing campaign to drive down drugs offences.
The warrant was executed in Angle Street. One man was arrested for possession with intent to supply and drugs - 18 small bags and 1 large bag of cannabis - were found at the property. Police investigations are continuing.
PC Susan Sanderson said the warrant was carried out following information from the local community and concerns raised at local Police and Communities Together meetings.
"I hope the action reassures members of the local community we are listening to their information and taking action to tackle their concerns." he said.
PC Sanderson added: "I hope it sends a clear warning to other offenders. Drug-related crime is not welcome in our local communities and neither the residents nor police in Burnley will tolerate it."
She urged people to come forward with information. "If anyone has any information about drug-related criminality – whether it be drug dealing or details of people committing crime to fund a habit, then I would urge them to contact us."
