A CALLOUS thief stole £50 from an elderly woman during a shocking sneak attack.
The 86-year-old woman, of Brunshaw Road, Burnley, was distracted by the cold-hearted offender at 2 p.m. yesterday when he knocked on her door and asked if she would sponsor him for a Cancer Research charity event

While she was getting a pen from another room he burst into the house, grabbed her black leather handbag, containing £50, and made off.

The man is described as white, young looking, of slim build and was wearing a dark jacket.
